Planting a perennial food plot on a hilltop, hillside or in lighter, upland soil?

  • Try Whitetail Institute Imperial Alfa-Rack Plus. Whitetail Institute’s R&D team designed Alfa-Rack Plus to produce an extensive deep-root structure that helps plants thrive on hilltops and hillsides.  Alfa-Rack Plus features grazing alfalfas that are high-protein, drought and cold tolerant, have more leaf relative to stem and are more palatable to deer than ordinary hay alfalfas.  Alfa-Rack Plus also contains Imperial Whitetail Clover and WINA Chicory, which is vastly more palatable to deer than traditional, more waxy textured chicory.

  • This Alfalfa food plot seed for deer is EXTREMELY cold-tolerant

  • Heat, drought and disease-resistant

  • Coated with RainBondTM for enhanced seedling survivability

  • Perennial - Whitetail Institute's Imperial Alfa-Rack Plus lasts up to 5 years from a single planting

Alfa-Rack Plus is deep rooted and has been developed to grow successfully on hilltops, hillsides, and in moderate to well-drained soils.

    Bigger Bucks

Since planting Alfa Rack and Imperail clover and using 30-06 minerals I have noticed a increase in antler size and spreads. I used to see only basketsized eights and smaller. Now I see wide eights and larger on a regular basis. I am also seeing turkeys now. This is terrific since they are relatively new to this part of northern Minnesota.

    Just wanted to say thanks

This year for the first time I bought some AlfaRack. I have seen tremendous results out of the product. A few plots in the past we've only seen a few deer every now and then and now the deer are spending 4 to 5 hours during daylight hours each day.

Great product with years of satisfaction in planting.

Alfa-Rack has been an integral part of the food plot process here on my farm for over 10 years. I've seen great success in planting it on south facing slopes as well as atop dryer ridge tops where IW Clover would not do as well. The local herd seems to prefer it as a first browsing choice over clover plots. The mix of alfalfa varieties keeps it desirable as a food source for a long period of time. To me, it's worth the extra cost for the results it brings.

works well and deer devour it

Did a 1 acer plot with imperial clover in half and alfa rack in other. Same ground prep and planting method both grew fast and came in thick. Deer keep the alfalfa down to under a foot ( it grew to almost 28" in the cage). Would have gave it a 5 but its a little pricey .
