Whitetail Oats Plus

Planted on August 5th and already attracting deer.

I'm giving it 4 stars now. I put my trail cam close to a plot so this could turn to a 5. Follow instructions which are simply common sense. Soil test, did my own, slightly acidic, then use the institute product selector. After 4 weeks my oats were 8 to 9 inches. In an area I wasn't confident of my prep work, WOW was I wrong, they took off too. I'll be buying again

Been planting food plots for years, This seed is the best I have seen, Easy to plant, Grows great, tolerates to cold climates and deer get in line to eat in plots.

I have used several different whitetail institute products in my area of western New York. My area is very close to the border of Lake Ontario. I planted the Oats plus right next to an Extreme food plot that the deer have been hammering. I now see deer in both plots on a regular basis. I imagine as we get colder weather the oats will become even more attractive.

I use this product to get a clover patch started. Plant it in the fall with your clover. The Oats come up in about three days. At a week when the clover begins to sprout it is 3 to 6 inches tall. The deer eat it and let the clover grow. I over plant it because I want it to choke out any weeds that may want to come up in the spring. Works great. Once it dies in the spring I mow it and I have a great clover food plot that will last for about 5 years.

I throw this amongst my devastated soybean fields and every available spot that I can and man do they mow it down

In Ohio, I think I've used every spring and fall seed available from whitetail institute. For the fall planting, I don't think you can find better than Whitetail oats... I mix with tall tine tubers, to where they hit the oats during the fall and tubers once it gets COLD.

I have used the whitetail oats plus for years with wonderful results. Last year I expanded my food plot to accommodate a 1/2 acre of winter peas plus to go with the oats. The results were tremendous. I had numerous forage radishes that were 12"-14" long and as bigger around than my arm. Long story short I DO NOT use anything that doesn't say whitetail institute. I have tried most of the other brands and the deer just don't prefer them as much. Period. I am an average Joe, not a farmer, not an outfitter, and have very limited places and equipment for use. I can see the science in Whitetail Institute products every day I hunt and the deer pile out into these products. Whitetail Institute has never let me down. Keep up the great work!
