Imperial Whitetail Oats Plus is an oat-based product that is extremely attractive and winter hardy.

When a university tested different oat varieties for grain production, the grazing pressure by deer on one specific variety was so heavy it was eliminated from the tests.  Whitetail Institute found out about this variety and its testing proved that the oat was highly preferred by deer because of the oat’s high sugar content and that it is very winter-hardy. The result is Imperial Whitetail Oats Plus – the PREMIUM oat planting for deer that establishes and grows quickly, contains high levels of sugar for maximum attraction, and provides enhanced cold-tolerance.

  • PREMIUM winter oats for deer that are designed for early fall planting
  • Highly attractive to deer with a high sugar content
  • Includes Whitetail Oats – an oat variety so attractive it was removed from university grain-production trials and shelved due to heavy grazing by deer. This exclusive Oat is only available in Whitetail Institute products.
  • Winter hardy
  • Includes small amounts of a specially selected triticale to boost cold-tolerance even further

    Great Food Plot Seed!

Posted by Randy on 11th Oct 2018

I followed the planting instructions including getting a soil sample. Luckily I got some rain soon after planting. The oats germinated and start growing fast. I put a wire basket in the middle of the plot. The oats in the basket are around 2 feet tall, and the rest of the food plot the oats are only around 6 inches tall. The deer are gobbling it up! Got lots of trail cam pics.

Planted Whitetail Oats Plus in some boggy bottoms, sandy soil, as well as in good soil. It germinated and grew well in all locations and attracts deer all fall and winter.

    Best Oats on the Market

Posted by Kerry on 30th Jan 2018

We have been using these oats for 2 years now and have been amazed. Last year just about every farm around us lost their plots due to a drought after their seeds germinated. Our plots with the Whitetail Oats continued to explode even during the drought. Eventually when the rain came, they progressed more rapidly and continued throughout the season. In southern Mississippi, we do not experience much cold weather except this year where we had 6" of snow and temperatures in the low teens. Whitetail Oats continued to grow at a very slow rate but they have survived. The deer absolutely love these oats.

    No comparison

I decided to experiment with Whitetail oats plus and another popular brand oats. Split an acre plot and planted half with each. 10 days later both were about 4 inches tall. 2 weeks after that I walked into the plot and couldn't hardly believe what I saw. Whitetail oats looked like it had been mowed and the other brand wasn't touched.

    Very impressed

    Posted by Brandon-LA on 29th Nov 2017

I planted whitetail oats plus this past fall. Here is a little information behind it. I live in Louisiana. This plot is on a little 10 acre section behind my dads house that we own. I always plant soybeans in the spring time, which is a huge attractant for the deer and normally just throw out some wheat or rye grass seed in the fall. This is the first year I have planted oats from whitetail institute. I’m not like most people, being from Louisiana I work in the oil field. Which means I have a certain schedule. My schedule now is I work 28 days and then Home 28 days. I have to make the best of those days at home so when it comes to spring or fall food plots I can’t always do them at the right time per say. In this case I had my ground worked up and was just waiting on a rain to get them planted before I left. Well, it turned off dry and never got the rain I was hoping for before I had to leave which was on October 1st. I went ahead and planted the oats on September 30th, got them covered up and had to leave for work the next day. I really didn’t have much hope when I planted them as the forecast for the next 10 days was not looking in my favor. Exactly 14 days after I left, we got a good rain. With it being so dry, the ground soaked it all up. No standing water anywhere. When I started getting pictures with my camera, I was shocked to see the oats coming up and they have never looked back. They laid in the ground for 2 weeks and still came up!!! I was totally impressed to say the least. I’ve never had a food plot look this great! Thanks for a great product!!!

    OUTSTANDING

Posted by Gary C.-MI on 20th Nov 2017

My soil is somewhat sandy and the pH is 5.9. I've struggled to get anything to do well in this plot for years. Tried the Whitetail Oats Plus this fall and it did great. Good production and the deer are killing it and now I need to kill a couple of them.
