Imperial Whitetail Oats Plus is an oat-based product that is extremely attractive and winter hardy.

When a university tested different oat varieties for grain production, the grazing pressure by deer on one specific variety was so heavy it was eliminated from the tests.  Whitetail Institute found out about this variety and its testing proved that the oat was highly preferred by deer because of the oat’s high sugar content and that it is very winter-hardy. The result is Imperial Whitetail Oats Plus – the PREMIUM oat planting for deer that establishes and grows quickly, contains high levels of sugar for maximum attraction, and provides enhanced cold-tolerance.

  • PREMIUM winter oats for deer that are designed for early fall planting
  • Highly attractive to deer with a high sugar content
  • Includes Whitetail Oats – an oat variety so attractive it was removed from university grain-production trials and shelved due to heavy grazing by deer. This exclusive Oat is only available in Whitetail Institute products.
  • Winter hardy
  • Includes small amounts of a specially selected triticale to boost cold-tolerance even further

    Let the parade begin!

Posted by Hank T. on 10th Dec 2014

I opened up more of my land to plant in food plots this summer. I planted Whitetail Oats for the first time, and was impressed how fast they grew into a lush plot, more importantly was the number of deer that started using this plot was incredible. There was a virtual parade of bucks coming to this plot day and night! The is a product is a home run!

    Great late season food

Posted by Scott B. on 8th Dec 2014

I have planted Whitetail Oats for 3 seasons. It will hold deer but I find that they will come to it after they have eaten the Winter Greens. I plant late July in VT so it will get at least 2 feet high for November. I would recommend it but plant both if you can

    What deer want in Arkansas

Posted by Mike H. on 8th Dec 2014

Having planted and No Plow, Imperial Clover and Whitetail oats, I can report that in my fields the oats seem to work best. Next year I will maintain my IC and reduce my No Plow, primarily planting the oats. I think it is good to have a variety, but the deer here cannot stay away from the oats.

Second time I planted it. The first time the turkeys got to the seeds before they had a chance. This time I had a successful planting and the deer love it.

Late October early november AMAZING attraction

Posted by Steve on 26th Nov 2014

Have planted the whitetail institute oats plus on my property for 3 years now. The first year I planted an acre of it, and once Halloween rolled around and my deer tried it the first time, the entire acre was barren within a week. They went CRAZY for it. In the last two years ive added an acre more each year. This year I have 3 acres planted and they are STILL hammering it. And they have plenty of choices of what to eat on my farm, as I also plant Whitetail institute clover, chicory plus, wintergreens, tall tine tubers, and doublecross. There is just a period of time in the late bow season that the oats are the only thing my deer want, and they really mow it down

    Better than others!

Posted by Unknown on 13th Oct 2013

Came up quick with a little rain. The deer love it! I planted it beside regular winter wheat to test. The deer are in the oats more than the wheat. It's just the middle of Oct. so I don't know how it will do for the rest of the year? But what I've seen so far I'll use the oats again next year.
