I finally purchased a soil test kit and it made all the difference. My plots all have hardy growth and my deer and turkey population has increased.

I've been using Whitetail Institute's soil tests for both establishing and maintaining my WI clover food plots. The results are returned extremely fast and the information is simple and easy to read.

I have been having co-ops do my soil sampling for years, yes it's worked decent. However, they could not test for "giant white clover" which most WI perennial plots call for the soil to be tested for. Sending my samples to WI to test was just slightly more expensive but I feel that the results were more specific to the WI products I am growing. I found the consultation from WI to be very helpful whereas I always struggled at co-ops because I wasn't a farmer so I didn't get the attention I needed nor did I always understand what they were saying. For me the few extra dollars spent sending them to WI were worth it.
