Simple Soil Samples
These soil samples are awesome! Considering my work schedule, it is nearly impossible to stop by a local county agent before they close (and they’re not open on weekends, at least in my area). That said, a simple option to stop by a Fed-Ex location on a weekend allowed my wife and me to acquire professional soil samples to increase the probability of our food plots producing tonnage this year. The soil sample kits arrived at our house within a few days after placing the order with Whitetail Institute, which is an added convenience for my work schedule. The results were emailed back to us within a few days after mailing them to the lab. A local farm co-op used the results and offered us the exact fertilizers as recommended by the lab test. Most importantly, a consultant (at Whitetail Institute) invested the time to speak with me on the phone and also respond to a couple emails to ensure all of my questions were answered! Thank you Whitetail Institute!!!

Worth every cent!!!
If you read any article on food plots, soil testing is the first thing they discuss and for good reason. My soil needed fertilizer, but was void of Potash. Also I knew an area was acidic, but would have never guessed it's pH was 4.7. When considering the expense of a food plot this is minimal (and the best deal I have found). Dropped off at the post office Saturday, e-mailed results on Tuesday. They give per acre and per 1,000 sq. feet amounts of lime and specific fertilizers based on the crop to be planted. If you're having trouble with a plot, get a soil test!!
