    Must admit I didn't know what I was doing when I decided to put food plots on our farm. I researched all the WI videos and info on their website and determined I needed soil tests to figure out what soil amendments needed to be added. I used the WI Soil Test Kits as directed was amazed at how simple the analysis was to understand. Added the lime and fertilizers as recommended and have enjoyed 3 nice clover plots and 1 nice Winter Peas Plus plot this past season. Will be doing additional soil tests on the clover plots this year to make sure they have all the nutrients they need to last for a few years.

    Don't waste your money

    Two years ago I used a do it yourself soil test kit and the reading showed a pH of 6.5. That year my plot struggled to develop. Last year I used the Whitetail Institute lab soil test kit and my pH came back at 5.1. I added the lime called for on the report and my plots took off and did fantastic. Don't waste your money on the do it yourself kits. In my opinion they cause more problems than they solve. Stick with the lab tests.

    Soil test kit

    The kit is really easy to use. Plan on 7-10 dollars for postage to mail the pkg back to the lab. The results opened our eye on how far off we thought our ph was. The kit just saved us over $900 alone in lime for this year.

    This was the easiest soil test ever. Everything you need is mailed right to you. Follow the instructions and send it in. The report you get is easy to read and very informative.
