Planted in small, shaded lanes couple weeks ago. Excellent germination. Looks like green carpet when approaching. Deer magnet.

    Still Continue to be wow'd

Posted by Jeff-NE Washington on 27th Jul 2018

OK, I wrote an earlier review about No-Plow and I need to expand on it as the season is progressing. My second plot planted this year was put in late after most of the surface soil moisture was gone. Mind you, I was waiting all winter to get my food plots going for the first time so I was forging ahead even without optimum planting conditions or farm equipment. This plot was sprayed, harrowed and fertilized according to the soil test I sent in and then seeded. It was a full two weeks before we got another rain as it's pretty arid in NE Washington at 20" of annual rainfall. The field is two months old and a bit spotty but the amount of animals that have visited is impressive. There's only been two bucks taken on my property in the last 8 years and I've never seen one. My game camera has picked up three different bucks and a very nice 6x7 Elk not to mention the does and turkeys. This fall we plan to expand our plots with some other WI products to help build our herd.

    I'm Impressed

Posted by Jeff - NE Washingotn on 26th Jun 2018

Read plenty of reviews about different products. I went with WI due to their length in the business. I chose No-Plow because I'm just starting up and due to operating expense limits I don't have a bunch of equipment to prep a field properly. This works very well but the ground I did harrow is growing way better than places that wasn't prepped. I'm also in an area where there's only about 20 inches of annual rainfall which is 10 inches below the recommended amount.

    Great so far!

In three days I could already see some germination occurring. Not quite two weeks in and it looks like a lush green carpet. I followed the instructions pretty close, however I did use a small tiller to mix in lime and fertilizer. I put lime down and 13 13 13. Then tilled it in just before throwing the seed out. After broadcasting the seed I lightly packed it down with a rake and just walking over it. I tried to get it down just before a rain. Looks great so far. I did some other test plots with little or no preparation and it came up there as well.

    Good stuff

I was able to use my walk behind tiller to break up the top 2" if soil and planted this seed. Didnt rake it in just left it and luckily got a little rain two days later. after about 7 days it sprouted and has grown well. I also put a little garden fertilizer on it to help . About three weeks all the different seed type appear to be growing well and the deer and turkey are already loving it.
