Building a Legacy on the Land: Our Journey with Whitetail Institute

By , Client of Next Level Consulting

Two years ago, when Jody from Whitetail Institute first stepped onto our property, we couldn’t have imagined the impact his visit would have. His consultation opened our eyes to what our land could become with the right effort and long-term vision. That day marked the beginning of a journey—one that has reshaped not only our farm but also the way we think about stewardship and legacy.

Since then, we’ve worked closely with Jody to elevate the habitat across our farm. His expertise has guided us through food plot strategies, habitat improvements, and land management practices that have transformed our property into something truly special.

On Jody’s return visit, we had the privilege of inviting his daughter Maggie to join him for her very first Midwest whitetail hunt. Sharing that experience was unforgettable. Both Maggie and Lindsey tagged incredible bucks that weekend—a rare moment where preparation, timing, and great company all came together in the best possible way.

We couldn’t be more grateful for Jody and the Whitetail Institute team. Their guidance has become an important chapter in the story we’re building here. For us, this journey isn’t just about improving hunting opportunities. It’s about creating a legacy, strengthening relationships, and continually investing in the land we love. With each passing season, our excitement for what lies ahead only grows stronger.

Jody, Wildlife Biologist — Next Level Consulting and Whitetail Institute

As a biologist and habitat consultant with Next Level Consulting and Whitetail Institute, I’ve had the privilege of working with many landowners. But Kolby and Lindsey Norris stand out. They are among the hardest-working and most dedicated hunters I’ve ever met. They do everything right—crossing all the T’s and dotting all the I’s before stepping into the woods.

Watching their farm evolve over the past two years has been inspiring. From food plots to habitat improvements, they’ve applied every piece of advice and made it happen.

On my recent visit, I brought my daughter Maggie for her very first Midwest whitetail hunt. Sharing that moment with Kolby and Lindsey was unforgettable. Maggie harvested a giant mainframe 8-point, and the joy on her face is something I’ll never forget. It wasn’t just about hunting—it was fellowship with wonderful friends.

I’m grateful for the chance to work with Kolby and Lindsey, and I look forward to helping them continue to take their farm to the Next Level.

This story isn’t just about deer hunting—it’s about vision, hard work, and the bonds formed along the way. For Kolby and Lindsey, the farm is more than land; it’s a legacy in the making. For Jody, it’s proof of what’s possible when passion meets dedication. Together, they remind us that the outdoors is best experienced not only through harvests but through friendships and shared journeys.
